  1. 1 cup semolina (fine or medium grind)
  2. ½ cup organic brown sugar
  3. ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted at room temp C only.
  4. 1 cup fresh milk  at room temp C only.
  5. ¼ cup rich cocoa powder
  6. 3/4 tsp baking powder
  7. ½ tsp vanilla extract
  8. Pinch of salt
  9. 1/2 tsp VInegar
  10. 1/2 Baking Soda

▶️ Step-by-Step Recipe

 

Preheat & Prep

  • Preheat your oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
  • Grease an 8″ round cake pan or of any desired size pan/bowl and line the bottom with parchment.
     

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a bowl, whisk together  grinded semolina, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, vinegar and salt.
     

Combine Wet Ingredients

  • In another bowl, mix melted butter, milk at room temp. only, vanilla essence drops, and organic brown sugar until smooth.
     

Fold & Rest

  • Now Pour wet mixture into dry powder material, gently folding until just combined.
  • Let the batter rest 30-35 minutes — this hydrates the semolina for a tender crumb.
     

Bake to Perfection

  • Transfer batter to the pan.
  • Bake for 30–40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean with a few moist crumbs.
     

Cool & Serve

  • Allow cake to cool in pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a rack.
  • Dust with extra cocoa or melted chocolate. Slice it and enjoy!
